It is their responsibility to visit premises either through routine visits, or because a concern has been raised by another party or as a result of an incident, to ensure that there is an up to date Fire Risk Assessment in place and the Responsible Person is compliant with its findings. Many people are not aware of these regulations, or of what their legal duty is. The Fire Service could phone you at any time to make an appointment to call to carry out an audit.
